The Moons
This is about the forthcoming twinning of Glenelg in Scotland and Glenelg on Mars. On 20th Oct the Mars rover "Curiosity" will reach the place on Mars which shares its name with Glenelg in Scotland. The two areas are going to be officially twinned to commemorate the occasion. Here is a an acknowledgement to "The Broons" and all the great artists involved with it.

Riders of the New Forest
Inspired by a newspaper article about the agisters of the New Forest and the drifts that they organise. The drifts are annual round-ups of the ponies for the purpose of health checks.

...and mozzarella ball. An idea based on the news of the opening of a new bar in Old Street called Bounce. The bar has ping-pong tables for its customers to play on, and serves up pizza on the side.

A Busy Night on Mount Doom
Today there were some incredible photos in the news: close-ups of a volcano. The photos were taken by Geoff Mackley. he had to wear a special heat suit in order to get so close to the furnace. It's the first time anyone has taken such nearby footage of a volcano.

Found this story in the "news": there is a growing trend in Japan to inject saline into the forehead and press a thumb into the swelling thereby creating a "bagelhead" - but the effect looks more like a bum-hole if you ask me.
